On September 5th (local time), Sony Mobile Communications announced its flagship model smartphone "Xperia 5" at the international consumer electronics fair "IFA 2019" held in Berlin, Germany. The Qualcomm's high-end SoC "Snapdragon 855" is installed on a 6.1-inch wide screen with an aspect ratio of 21: 9. It will go on sale in Japan and elsewhere after this fall. Price is undecided
A smaller and lighter version of the approximately 6.5-inch flagship model "Xperia 1" announced by the company in February. It weighs about 166 grams and is about 14 grams lighter than Xperia 1 (about 180 grams). The display is an organic EL of 2520 x 1080 pixels, and the number of pixels is reduced from Xperia 1 (3840 x 1644 pixels) as the screen size is reduced.
Like the Xperia 1, the rear camera has a triple lens configuration with a focal length of 52mm (F2.4), 26mm (F1.6), and 16mm (F2.4). The number of effective pixels is about 12 million. The company's mirrorless camera is equipped with "Eye AF" that detects the human eye and adjusts the focus.
